Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is a 2024 American science fiction action film directed by Wes Ball and written by Josh Friedman. The stand-alone sequel to War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) is his fourth film in the reboot series and his tenth film overall. Owen Teague co-stars with Freya Allan, 

Kevin Durand, Peter Macon, and William H. Macy. The film is set 300 years after the war, and tells the story of a young chimpanzee named Noah who goes on a journey with a human woman named Mei to decide the future of apes and humans.

Development on the new Planet of the Apes began in April 2019 after Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, and Ball was hired as writer and director in December. Much of the script was written during the 2020 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. Casting began in June 2022 after the script was completed. 

Teague was cast in the lead role in August, and the film's title and additional cast members were announced the following month. Principal photography began in Sydney in October 2022 and concluded in February 2023.[5][6]

Planet of the Apes premiered on May 2, 2024 at the TCL Chinese Theater in Los Angeles and was released in the United States on May 10 by 20th Century Studios. The film received generally positive reviews from critics and grossed over $131 million worldwide.

Every year on the second Sunday of May, the United States observes Mother's Day and celebrates Mother's Day. 

 

 Mother's Day is a time to celebrate not only birth parents, but also grandmothers, uncles, adoptive mothers, adoptive parents, and all the women who play a nurturing role in our lives. It is a day to appreciate the strength, love and guidance they provide.

Mother’s Day 2024: History

The origins of Mother's Day in the United States date back to the mid-19th century, thanks to the efforts of many dedicated women. Social activist Julia Ward Howe advocated "Peace Parents' Day" to unite parents against war. But the holiday as we know it today is largely thanks to Anna Jarvis, who  tirelessly advocated filial piety after her  mother's death. In 1914, Mother's Day  became a national holiday. 

 

  History.com says: “The origins of Mother's Day, celebrated in the United States, date back to the 19th century. In the years before the Civil War, West Virginia's Ann Reeves Jarvis  helped organize "Work Day  Clubs" to teach local women how to properly care for their children. 

 

 “These clubs later became a unifying force in  the country due to the divisions experienced during the Civil War and have survived to this day. In 1868, Jarvis organized "Parents' Friendship Day," in which parents brought together veterans and Union  soldiers to promote reconciliation. ” 

 

 “Another foreshadowing of Mother's Day came from the departure and election of Julia Ward Howe. In 1870, Howe wrote the “Mother's Day Proclamation,” calling on people to unite to promote world peace. Howe added that in 1873 he campaigned for the observance of "Parents' Peace Day" on June 2 each year.

Mel Gibson produced and directed the epic historical action-adventure movie Apocalypto (p\pkə lɪptoʊ/ in 2006; he also co-wrote the screenplay with Farhad Safina. Rudy Youngblood, Raoul Trujillo, Mayra Sérbulo, Dalia Hernández, Gerardo Taracena, Rodolfo Palacios, Bernardo Ruiz Juarez, Ammel Rodrigo Mendoza, Ricardo Diaz Mendoza, and Israel Contreras are among the American Indian and Indigenous

Mexican performers who appear in the movie. Apocalypto, which takes place in Yucatán circa 1517, tells the story of the heroic voyage of a young Mesoamerican hunter named Jaguar Paw and his fellow tribesmen who are taken prisoner by an invading troop. They are taken on a dangerous journey to a Maya city for human sacrifice during a period when the Maya civilization is in decline after their village is destroyed.

The main photography was done in Mexico between November 21, 2005, and July 6, 2006. Every indigenous person portrayed in the movie was a Maya. Furthermore, the conversation is entirely in a contemporary rendition of the setting's old tongue, while the Indigenous Yucatec Mayan language is spoken with subtitles that occasionally allude to it as Mayan.

Buena Vista Pictures handled North American distribution for Apocalypto, while Icon Film Distribution handled distribution for the UK and Australia. Critics praised Gibson's direction, Dean Semler's cinematography, and the cast performances, while critics criticized the portrayal of Maya civilization and historical inaccuracies. The film was a box office success, grossing over $120 million worldwide.

A group of refugees escaping conflict and destruction are encountered by Jaguar Paw, his father Flint Sky, and other tribe members while hunting in the Mesoamerican rainforest. When they get back to their community, Flint Sky tells Jaguar Paw not to ever let fear get the better of him after observing that the refugees are ill with fear.

Later that evening, the tribe assembles around an elder who shares a prophecy about a being who, in spite of all the gifts handed to him, is consumed by an unsatisfied emptiness. The creature will keep consuming mindlessly until the planet is gone and there is nothing left for him to take.

 Civil War Movie 2024

Author and director Alex Garland's action thriller Civil War is set to release in 2024. Civil War, starring Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, and Stephen McKinley Henderson, is set in the near future and depicts the United States becoming embroiled in a second Civil War following attempts by Texas and California to secede from the nation. 

Between several regional factions and the dictatorial US government, a civil war has broken out. The president, who is in his third term in office, asserts that triumph is imminent. An aspiring photojournalist named Jessie is saved from a suicide bombing in Brooklyn by renowned war photographer Lee Smith.

Before the city collapses, Lee and her colleague Joel plan to visit Washington, D.C. to speak with and take pictures of the president. Sammy, Lee's mentor, requests to go with them to Charlottesville, where the Texas and Californian Western Forces ("WF") are gathering. Lee is hesitant, but Joel and she agree. Lee has no idea that Jessie talks Joel into bringing her along.
